This Sterling Silver and Blue Dumortierite Quartz cage pendant is one of a kind. Dumortierite has a blue hue that ranges from light blue to gray-blue because of the inclusions found in it. It was discovered by a French Paleontologist named Eugene Dumortier in 1881. This Quartz typically occurs in a variety of igneous rocks.
Dumortierite is such a hard a durable Quartz that it is considered suitable enough to be used in different types of ceramics. but in addition to that, it has become a popular and appealing stone made into beads and other forms of jewelry because of its brilliant blue color.
